If you travel to chiang Mai, Ristr8to Specialty coffee crafters is the place you should not miss. One of the finest cafes in not only Chiang Mai but the whole Thailand. They already won World Latte Art championship for their amazingly detail latte arts. Before going there, we really didn’t know that much about this cafe. I thought it’s just another cafe of Chiang Mai.
This is actually pretty small space with no couch or comfi chairs, but has kind of hipsterish look that you will love to take photo and share on instagram. And See, this is what people are doing in this first photo I guess. lol.
Take a look a Latte art they did for this Mocha. And sorry to say it’s kind of not good. :/ I hope they didn’t win the championship for this kind of art. But hey.. The coffee is so so good !
The thing that really caught my eyes is the way they serve the coffee & foods. It’s a flat wooden bar with engraved information written on it. Though we thought it is written based on the coffee I am having, but it’s not. Indeed that would much more interesting . But yet It’s a cool and creative idea.
We had three different kinds of coffees. One was Piccolo latte. Traditionally, a Piccolo Latte is a Ristretto* shot (15 – 20 ml) topped with warm, silky milk served in a 100 ml glass demitasse (small latte glass), one was cafe latte and another one is Cafe Mocha.
Beside coffee we had waffle which was crunchy but oily and served hot. You should try along with coffee . And the one common thing that I really loved about Chiang Mai is, They always serve drinking water with every meal for free . SO, you never have to buy bottled water there. Pretty cool. Isn’t ?
* Ristretto is traditionally a short shot of espresso coffee made with the normal amount of ground coffee but extracted with about half the amount of water.
